The major difference between SCLC and NSCLC

Research

With 20% of all cases diagnosed cases of cancer, lung cancer is one of the most common types of cancer. This cancer can occur both in males and females. In USA only, 2,34,000 new cases of lung cancer were diagnosed last year. Thus knowing about this disease has become extremely important.

Lung Cancer is a life-threatening disease in which the cells of lungs start to grow rapidly and abnormally. They can also get multiple causing genetic mutation. If lung cancer is not diagnosed at an early stage and effective treatment is not given on time, then it can prove fatal for life. In USA only, 1,54,000 deaths from lung cancer were recorded last year. The average age of the diagnosis of lung cancer is 65-70 which clearly shows that older people have higher chances of getting this disease.

There are two major types of lung cancer, one is small cell lung cancer and another is non small lung cancer. Both are life-threatening cancers caused by gene mutation.

Difference between the two cancers

Small Cell Lung Cancer

This cancer spreads more rapidly and aggressively. Unlike, non small cell lung cancer, this cancer always begins in the bronchi (airway in the center of the chest). Those who are regular smokers are highly prone to get diagnosed with this cancer.

Non small cell lung cancer

Popularly known as nsclc, is more common kind of lung cancer. This cancer accounts for more than 80% of all cases of lung cancer. It is composed of three types of cancer that originates from the lung tissue. Those three types are adenocarcinomas, squamous cell carcinomas and large cell carcinomas.

Both these types are fatal for life. You must take care of your lifestyle to reduce the possibility of its occurrence. Adopt a healthy lifestyle, eat nutritious food and do yoga or cardio regularly.
